Theranos scandal: the REAL story (2/3)

This is part 2 of a 3-part article. In Part 1 I contrasted the standard media narrative of Theranos with an alternative interpretation based on publicly available information. The implausible standard interpretation is that Theranos founder, Elizabeth Holmes herself launched the venture, defrauded everyone involved and kept up the fraud for over 12 years. In this part we’ll take a closer look at this network’s likely agenda with Theranos. A video report that condenses the whole 3-part story is at this link.

POWERS BEHIND THE STAGE

It is far more likely that Holmes was recruited to be the front-woman of Theranos while the project’s real power brokers remained behind the stage. Her real qualifications were her youth, unbridled ambition, lack of any scruples about deceiving her own employees, investors and the public, and her willingness to advance her goals over people’s lives. She also had that sense of her family’s greatness which might have enabled her to set aside all legal and ethical considerations in pursuing her grand mission. Another plus would have been her supposed fluency in Mandarin, since future health challenges were expected to come from China.

Alcohol and humanity’s evolution

Quick update – in the hours after I published this article I stumbled across these words from W. B. Yeats and which struck me as relevant:

“The World is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”

Over the years and almost against my conscious will, my body has been rejecting alcohol. For someone who used to love wine, there is a regrettable side to this rejection. But there’s also a mystery about it, perhaps relevant to our collective evolution – a process that’s likely happening even as you read these lines.

The drunken excesses of youth

I started consuming alcoholic drinks when I was 14. At that time my friends and I began to socialize in bars and night clubs. There was no age related restrictions in former Yugoslavia so it was easy for us to get drunk as badly and as often as we wanted to.

Evidence: face masks put children’s health at risk

Starting the new school year I found out tnat our children are required to wear masks in school – all day! They are allowed to remove them for a few seconds at a time and during mealtime. This at last prompted me to look at the scientific data in several peer reviewed medical journals and determine whether there’s good science justifying such cruelty. The verdict is very clear (see below for links to sources):

Of pandemics and tyrannies

A few years ago Dr. Jordan Peterson gave a lecture in which he made a chilling but noteworthy remark about the correlation between epidemics and tyrannies. I thought I’d transcribe the key parts (the video clip of this lecture is at the bottom of this article):

Jordan Peterson: “There was a paper published in PLOS 1 … about a year ago… They were looking at… political attitudes with … authoritarian beliefs scale, because authoritarianism has been studied quite a bit since World War II. … What they found was mind-boggling – Nobel Prize winning stuff as far as I’m concerned: Continue reading

Reject fear: your immune system is robust and resilient – your best bet for good health and vitality

Three weeks ago I published, “Don’t succumb to virus fear,” – one of my best read articles so far. As a layman, I hesitated to publish more than just 6 paragraphs based on official data with only very simple, non-controversial advice on how to bolster your immune system.

In the intervening days, many experts have come out offering essentially the same advice. Today I came across the superb interview with Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, MIT immunologist with four PhDs whose message is authoritative and completely in agreement with my timid prose from a few weeks ago. Don’t succumb to virus fear

UPDATE: I have followed up on this post including an important interview with Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, MIT epidemiologist whose authoritative perspective is important to consider: Reject Fear! Your immune system is robust and resilient…

Today I learned that schools in Monaco and all of France won’t open on Monday morning and will remain closed at least until early May 2020. This is the authorities’ emergency response to the Corona virus pandemic that engulfed much of the world.

Whether this response is appropriate or overkill, I cannot say but I think it is important that we not succumb to irrational fear of Corona virus – or any other disease. To put things into proper perspective, consider what we know about pathogens like the poliovirus, TB and malaria: Continue reading
